Questions & Answers Phase 4

Below are questions my clients have asked.  Hopefully they will help clear up some of the questions you might have.  Please be aware that I am not a Licensed Medical Doctor.  If you have any concerns about your medicines or health, please consult your Medical Doctor.

1.  I have gained weight the first 2 days having only 1 starch and 1 sugar each day.  Shouldn’t I be more stable?

People think that once they start Phase 4 they are stable.  You are not!  It is going to be just like the start of Phase 3.  When you start introducing new food into your diet,  especially starch and sugar, your body will react.  That is way it is critical that you add them in extremely slowly.  I would start with 1 starch for breakfast.  It seems to have less of an affect if you eat it earlier in the day.  If you are up the next day, don’t have starch or sugar that day and it should come back off.  If you are stable, add something else the next day.  The easy route – Take Digestive Enzymes!  You won’t have to worry as much and you will be a lot more stable when you eat starch or sugar.

2.  How important is counting calories in Phase 4?

The longer I do this the more I realize that the people that have the most success keep their calories around 1800-2000 calories a day.  If you are very active you can eat more.  I don’t like keeping track but I am very careful with portion control.  It is easy for old habits to creep back in.

3.  I’m frustrated because I have a small breakfast, a snack during the day and dinner at night and I am still having trouble maintaining my weight?  I feel like I’m not overeating, what else can I do?

Remember that your body can only absorb so much nutrition at a time.  The rest goes right to you abnormal fat.  It looks like you are not eating enough during the day since your only full meal is at the end of the day.  If you are like me, since doing several rounds I get full very quick but I seem to want something a few hours later.  If you were to eat 6 small meals throughout the day, as opposed to snacking and eating one large meal, you should maintain your weight better.

4.  I never did Phase 1 and was wondering if Phase 4 is a good time to do some cleansing?

Absolutely?  I have learned how important cleansing is to maintain your weight and how well your digestive system works.  I feel like everyone should do a colon cleanse and a candida cleanse once or twice a year as a minimum.  Look at the blog under cleansing.  I have tried many, some worked and wore expensive, some didn’t.  The ones I carry are the ones I have found to be the most effective for the best price.

5.  I lost 25 lbs after doing the diet for 4 weeks.  I have quite a bit of loose skin.  Will it tighten up?

The best way to answer this question depends on how long you have been overweight.  If you have been “stretched out” for a long time it will take a little longer.  If you are younger and have not been overweight to long, most likely you will tighten up quicker.  One of the amazing things about the HCG diet is people have much fewer skin problems as opposed to those who have had lap band or gastric bypass.  I have found that with most people they will be much tighter at the end of the 6 week maintenance period then right at the end of Phase 2. EXERCISE DEFINITELY HELPS! Enjoy your thinner body. You will find it much easier with 25 lbs off. I have also seen several people benefit from a Whole Body Vibration machine.
