Below are questions my clients have asked. Hopefully they will help clear up some of the questions you might have. Please be aware that I am not a Licensed Medical Doctor. If you have any concerns about your medicines or health, please consult your Medical Doctor before starting any health and wellness program.

1. Do the load days count as two of the days of the minimum 21 days taking the Reduce 1x?  No. The minimum days taking Reduce 1x is 3 weeks. However you need to remember that once you stop taking it you need to stay on the 500 calorie diet for 72 more hours. So actually the minimum you should be on the low calorie diet is 21 days plus the additional 3 days or 24 days total.

2. I have been hungry a lot on Phase 2. Then when I eat I am full so quick I can hardly eat all my food. What can I do to even it out? First of all make sure you are drinking your water, tea, etc. That makes an enormous difference. If you are getting full so quickly, if it were me I would divide some of my food and eat more often. Technically you can eat every 2 hours. You have 2 proteins, 2 vegetables, 2 fruits, and 2 melba toast that you can have during the day. Most people have a certain time of day or evening that they are more hungry. Save a fruit for that time or even a 1/2 a fruit. An amazing small amount of food can curb hunger and low energy. If you are still hungry (remember to distinguish the difference between hunger and wanting to just eat). You can also try taking a few more drops of Reduce 1x and see if that helps.

3. OK One more …. my friend said you can have 2 types of veggies from the list, per meal. Is that right or are you allowed only one type per meal? The Original Protocol says to only have 1 vegetable per meal. Since that time there has been continued research  and the Advanced Research allows for combining vegetables and additional choices of vegetables. The Updated Grocery Shopping List can be found in the Advanced Research E-Cookbook. I have done it both ways. The advance list makes the protocol much easier and gives you a lot more options to keep from getting bored. If I go into a stall for a few days, (which is normal) I might limit combining veggies for a few meals. The majority of my clients are fine combining.

4. Does the Reduce 1x  have an expiration date? Do I have to do the binging for the first 2 days? I had my gallbladder out 2 weeks ago and my appetite is extremely finicky. The FDA asks us to inform people that the Reduce 1x  have an expiration date of 6 years. So if you don’t use an entire bottle for a round just save it for another time. My opinion is if you don’t have a huge appetite it would probably be a great time to start. If you have recently had surgery, I do have so say you should consult with your doctor. With that said load days are very important. People seem to do better, are less hungry and lose more if they load. I don’t load as much as I did in the first couple of times because I get sick from sugar and I hate that super full feeling. The important thing is you eat a lot of fat for 2 days and just eat as much as you possible can.

5. How important is the body cleanse that you start 7 days before the diet? I feel it is very important especially for people who have a lot of cravings. It makes the transition to the low calorie diet easier and helps your body prepare for processing a lot of fat. Ideally if you did a cleanse for a month it would be even better. But I have found most people are like me and when you are ready to start you don’t want to wait a month. Most people need to plan and prepare for Phase 2 which is a great time to at least do a 7-day cleanse. Will the diet work without doing the cleanse? Absolutely! You have to remember that this is your health journey. When I started I couldn’t afford anything but the Reduce 1x. Am I glad I started? Absolutely! As you proceed on your health journey you are going to learn more and more, but if you never start you’ll never get anywhere.

6. Is it better to work out during phase 2 or to just relax and take it slow? Does it make a difference? Doing some moderate exercise is always good. We suggest people at least walk 1 hour a day, even if you have to break it up. Heavy exercise is not really appropriate for phase 2 for two reasons. 1. You are not eating enough to sustain very intense exercise. 2. If you exercise to much it will put your body under stress. If your body is under stress it tends to want to hold onto the weight instead of releasing it. If you are feeling exhausted and/or shaky when exercising you are probably doing to much or have high or low blood sugar.

7. Do I have to move on to Phase 3 at three weeks or can I stay on Phase 2 because I want to lose more weight? You can definitely stay on Phase 2 longer. Based on experience, I would not stay on more than 5 weeks. At that point most people’s weight loss slows to 1 to 2 lbs a week. I find people do better to move on and do phase 3 and 4 and stabilize their weight loss. Then they can go back and do another round where they will loose it more quickly. Your body will usually tell you when you need to move on. One of the things I love about this program are the changing phases. You don’t have to stay on the same one for to long.

8. Hey, is crystal light considered an approved beverage and my other question is what is the portion you eat of the Spaghetti-less sauce? If you can do without the crystal light I would. Just like Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi it has aspartame and other additives. Most people have the best results without it. If your going crazy and need something to get you through it’s a better alternative than cheating. On the Spaghetti-less meat sauce I figure my serving by the weight of my meat. I think on the recipe it is 9. I just divide among 9 gladwares. I don’t worry about the vegetable amount just the meat.

9. Am I ok to use Agave instead of Stevia on phase 2? In Phase 2 and 3 NO! Agave syrup consists primarily of fructose and glucose. However, the extremely high percentage of fructose (higher than that of high-fructose corn syrup) will cause you to gain weight in Phase 2 and 3. Stevia is always the healthiest sweetner. The next best alternative I feel is Xylitol, Erythritol, or Splenda.

10. I am currently taking a pre-natal Multi-Vitamin Supplement even though it’s been a couple of days since I stopped breast feeding. Should I keep taking them or switch to a different type of vitamin? Multi-vitamins are very good for you. The main thing you need to do on supplements is start reading labels. Your main concern is phase 2 and 3 is avoiding sugar and starch. Many vitamins have fillers in them that are made of these. Cellulose is a sugar. Most capsules have cellulose in the actual capsule so it doesn’t gum up the machines that fill them. Check out the Multivitamin by Divine Nature in the store. One ‘n’ Only is the most potent, yet balanced once daily supplement, it’s safe, inexpensive and really helps people while on the low calorie diet. If you are using your own just be aware of the ingredients. If you stop losing weight in Phase 2 that is one of the areas to examine.

11. Can you have vinegar in phase 2. I know you can’t have balsamic but how about apple cider or wine? Apple cider vinegar is the healthiest for you and allowed. I used white distilled vinegar because it wasn’t as strong. Wine vinegar is also fine. Just check to make sure there is no sugar in any of them.

12. How much veggies can you eat in a meal? It doesn’t say, Is it unlimited? No it is not unlimited. Under phase 2 there is a post with calorie values of vegetables. You want to keep it as close to 500 calories as possible. With that said if you feel like you have to have something more it is better have a few extra veggies. You do not want to have more fruit or meat. I will marinate some cucumbers  and keep them in the fridge so I have something to snack on if I am dying to have something. You can also use the marinade as a dressing on your salad.

13. I am looking at the Phase 2 recipes and I was told you can’t mix your vegetables? Is this true or was that just wrong information from someone else????? Also maybe I am screwed up but isn’t phase 2 when you are doing 500 calories with the hcg? The Original Protocol did not allow for mixing of vegetables. Since then there has been a lot of research  and additional food choices have been added to the original list. You can find the updated list in the Advanced Research  E-Cookbook. The research shows you can now mix vegetables. I have done it both ways and they both work, but needless to say having additional choices and combining makes a HUGE difference! The continued research also acknowledges the fact that our diets are much different then they were 50-60 years ago. For that reason Phase 1, which is detoxification, was added to prepare people for the diet. For coaching I refer to taking the Reduce 1x and the 500 calorie diet as Phase 2.

14. When is it safe to start using lotions again? You do not want to use oil during the 72 hours after stopping the Reduce  1x. At the end of that time which is the actual start of Phase 3 you can start using lotions and potions again.

15. Can I use mustard as a condiment in Phase 2? I used it all the time. Just make sure you are reading labels. There are some specialty mustards that have sugar, honey, etc. in them.

16. Is it ok to get your hair colored? I don’t let anything interfere with my hair color. Actually people can go to extremes if they want on shampoos and conditions but hair doesn’t absorb oil like your skin does. I haven’t had any clients experience a problem with not being able to lose for this reason.

17.  My sister who did the hcg says that I am not going to be able to wear makeup? I wear oil-free Clinque makeup. If it is oil free it is fine.  Liquid makeup that has oil can affect your weight loss.  Mascara, mineral makeup, eyeshadow is fine.  Most lipsticks are also fine because they are primarily wax.

19.  Do you have to eat the 500 calories? Yes.  This is not a starvation diet. You are getting calories from your own fat due to the Reduce 1x but you still need food.  If you skip meals or do not eat your 500 calories you will usually pay the price the next day.  Often, you won’t lose, you will be hungrier and will have be very tired the following day.

20.  Is it necessary to take the Reduce 1x  in evenly spaced intervals (ie: every 8 hours)? You want to keep a certain level of it circulating so it’s doing it’s job by keeping you from being hungry,  releasing your abnormal fat, etc. That’s why they recommend taking it 3 times a day instead of 2.  Does it need to be precise? No.  There were several days I just got busy and forgot to take it in the afternoon. When I remembered I took it. If you miss 1 time you should be fine.  The more consistent you can keep it the better.

21.  What happens if someone only looses 4 lbs during the first week? My first answer would be you are probably doing something wrong without knowing it. 90% of the time that is normally true when I talk with people.  I would review the questionnaire on Fat Burners Diet Errors.  If you are good on all of those items, then be patient.  Not everybody loses at the same rate.  People who are more overweight lose more.  Those who are in good shape and not that much overweight lose less weight and more inches. I’ve had people who have only lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks but went down 2 sizes.  I also find that people who lose a lot the first week, go into a stall earlier and lose less the 2nd week.  People who lose less the first week seem to lose more  the following weeks.  This is a journey to learn about you.  Everybody loses differently.  Hang in there and get back with me.

22. If i am not yet at goal is it better to take a break from drops and do maintenance or just continue till goal? How long can one do homeopathic drops safely ? My experience tells me it is better to not stay on Phase 2 for more than 4 weeks.  Then do another round later. You will do better on maintenance, and lose faster if you do another round after phase 3 and phase 4. You can stay on it up to 6 weeks but you should be losing at least 3 lbs a week.  If not move on and stabilize.
23. What is your experience with vegetarians and the this protocol? If you get the Advanced Research  E-Cookbook there is section on vegetarians.  There is a certain protein pea protein that people have had success with. I don’t think it would work well with just the nonfat cottage cheese and egg whites. You can substitute those  once in a while.

24. Do I have to stop taking my Thyroid medication during the program? Absolutely Not,  We Recommend you consult always with your doctor and never stop taking anything without his consent.  I have lots of people do the protocol that take thyroid medication.

25.  How long after taking the drops does it stay in your system? 72 hours.  That is why you need to stay on the 500 calorie diet for that long once you stop taking the Reduce 1x.

26.  What do I need to do if I am in phase two and ate forbidden foods? Just get back on track.  If your weight is up the next day do an apple day.  Which is drink only water till noon. Just drink to quench your thrist. Then have 6 apples only, spaced out the rest of the day. I’ll try different types of apples, make apple sauce, baked apples or apple cookies in the Advanced Research E-Cookbook. You should be down the following day.

28.  I’m confused I was taught a gram of protein =4 calories a gram of carb=4 cal and a gram of fat =9 cal. using this formula this diet is around 1200 cal which I feel would be much more doable to me I really think I would die on 500 cal a day with all I do. Please clarify?

Trust me I didn’t think I could live on 500 calories a day when I could barely do 1200 a day.  You have to understand you are also getting 1500-2000 calories a day from your own fat when you are on Reduce 1x. Thats one of the things that makes this diet different than any other diet. I was less hungry and had more energy than any diet I have ever been on.  Not all protein is the same.  You need the leanest cuts on this program and fish, chicken and meat are all different amounts.  I personally don’t count calories,  I just weigh the meat, eat the allotted fruit and have a cup and sometimes a little more of vegetables.  I found it much easier to sacrifice a minimum of 3 weeks and lose a lot of fat then been on a low calorie diet and lose a 1/3 of what I lost on this not to mention all the other benefits.

    I’m a vegetarian and I only have protein shakes (Jay Robb) instead of eating meats. Is this ok?

      I did my last go around with 40 days and used Jay Robb. The weight came flying off. The problem was I never stabilized and gained it all back plus 8 extra bonus lbs. I am now doing it by exact foods. I got so tired of “cooking” boring foods that I just had Jay Robb twice a day. One fruit and one with coca powder and stevia.

      I would not recommend Jay Robb during Phase 2. I do use it constantly during Phase 3 with great results.

    Can I do just one load day? Today is my first load day and I feel positively sick. Can I just start with the VLCD tomorrow? Those foods are more in line with what I usually eat anyway.

      I feel the same way when I do load days. However there is a reason for it and I still think you need 2 days. What I do is I try to increase my fat intake but I don’t go crazy and eat everything in site or eat much sugar because it does make me sick. I’ll have berries and cream, a double cheeseburger from McDonalds, etc. things with a lot of fat. You need the extra fat in your blood stream and 2 days of taking drops for there to be sufficient nourishment in your blood to sustain you when you switch to the 500 calorie diet.

      That’s definitely a medical question. If it were me I would talk to my doctor and use my best judgement on what he says and if it is practical while I’m recovering.

    You need to understand the purpose of the diet. 1. To lose body fat. 2. To reset your hypothalamus so you get full quicker and crave healthier foods. Dr. Simeon says that if you reach your goal weight before three weeks you should double your vegetable and protein intake until you have done a minimum of 3 weeks. If you stop earlier because you have accomplished what you set out to do you have accomplished the lst goal but not the 2nd. It is also fairly normally for people to gain a few pounds in maintenance. I would increase your calories and try to make it 3 weeks for the best results long term. It’s up to you and what you want to accomplish.

    If you do phase 3 correctly you will probably be ok. 3 weeks is really the minimum you should do Phase 2 so you get all the benefits of cleaning up your hypothalamus which will in turn have many additional benefits such as craving healthier food and getting full sooner when you are off the diet.

    thank you, btw i did not realize there was a phase 4, i’m glad i posted a question. so 2 more weeks on phase 3 then 3 weeks on phase 4 and i can go back to phase 2 again….got it. 2nd question: i dont like the idea of loading for 2 days b/c i hate the idea of any weight gain at all-what happens if i skip the loading and go straight into 500 cal days?

    Your body will tell you if you are doing to much. Understand the principle behind it. You are only consuming 500 calories. If you overdue it it puts your body under stress, when it is under stress it wants to store fat not release it.

    Hi.. I was doing so good and was losing 1 lb a day I started on the 6th of feb this does not include my
    Load days. Last weekend the 16th I ate out I had just lettuce and a grilled chicken but I did not loose that day the following day I stuck to the plan and was down to 180 , then the next day I went down to 179 .. It has now been two days and I am still stuck at
    179 and it’s been fluctuating between 179 and 180. I would have done your apple day but u only found your page now. Please help.. What should I do???????

      It is normal to go into a stall in Phase 2. If you read Dr. Simons protocol or my article under Success Tips for Phase 2 you will understand why and that you are still losing inches. If it goes on more than 5 days then do an apple day. At the end of 3-4 weeks woman will not lose a lb a day. You lose more weight in the beginning and more inches toward the end.

    Hi.. I hve accepted that I may have plateau out thou I wish I could loose morn. Thou I hve lost lbs my waist area have not gone down by much. Are there any pointers you can give on how to loose belly fat?

      I always hope people will take measurements before they start. If you are doing things correctly you will lose inches. The weight comes off more in the beginning and the inches show up more toward the end of the protocol. Just stick to the plan and you will lose inches around the belly.

    This would be my 4 week on the diet. I have lost a total of 20 lbs and I am grateful. I need to loose 20 more but would have to do a second round Innorder to achieve that goal. I have a vacation coming up the first week of April, for one week this is a surprise vacation and would throw off my diet as outdoes not give me sufficient time to stay the course of phase 3 and 4 of this diet.
    As I mentioned I am in week 4 can you please advise the best way for me to do this so I won’t gain back what I lost and could transitioned back onto diet after the week vacation?

    I am doing injections because I am a hurt runner recovering from knee injury & gained 12 pounds. however, i am used to exercising every day, can i exercise/walk for an hour. or will it stall me? can i 5lb lift weights without a problem. someone suggested to up my protein if i do. what are your thoughts?

      Your body will tell you what you can do but understand the principal, if you do a lot of exercise on 500 calories it will put your body under stress, when it is under stress you store fat and burn muscle. You don’t want that. I find that doing some walking is fine. When you start adding additional food to compensate, people usually don’t do as well. You should get to your goal in 3 weeks which is the minimum you should do the protocol.

    I have had 3 bladder infections while on injections in 29 days. only had 1 other in 41years. do you know of this being a problem? do you think there is a problem?

      I doubt it. Have you been on any antibiotics lately? When you take them it kills your probiotics, friendly flora, which is a main part of your immune system. You’ll continue to have issues unless you take a good stable probiotic to reestablish what you lost. If you don’t you’ll continue to have issues.

      You can eat them all at once or separate. I prefer my vegetable and protein together and my fruit for a snack mid-afternoon and evening when I start to get a little hungry. Some people need there fruit in the morning. You just have to figure out what works for you.

    You can only have 1 Tab. of fat free milk a day so most people just leave it out. If its for your coffee you might want to try some flavored stevia. Miracle noodles are fine but I would only have 1/2 a package at the most. Remember, its a good idea to still stop when you are full because you can eat it later and that is a great habit to get into. Really no limit on the stevia.

    Unfortunately that is bad timing. Depending on how badly you eat there is the potential to gain significant weight back. My best advice would be to get some Total Digestive Enzymes and Fat & Sugar Enzymes and take them when you eat. I was testing them the last time I was on Phase 3 and was able to still maintain my weight, a small miracle. They will help digest what you eat better and eliminate it as opposed to sending it to storage.

      I’ll be going on a week long family vacation (reunion) to the beach during week 3 of Phase 3 and am obviously really worried about gaining weight . I have a couple questions.
      1. Other than doing my best to make good food choices with what’s available, do you have any other suggestions?
      2. Did you take the Total Digestive Enzymes and Fat Sugar Enzymes at the same time before each meal (ie the recommended use on each bottle says 1-2 capsules before each meal – so should I take basically 2 of each before each meal meaning up to 12 pills a day?)
      3. If I can only afford to buy one of these enzymes, which would be better? What’s the difference between the two?

        You don’t need to take both. I would stick with the Total Digestive Enzymes. I have a bottle of fat and sugar enzymes that I carry with me but I only take them if I eat a cookie, chips and dip or something with a lot of fat. I usually have a green smoothie for breakfast so I don’t need the enzymes then. If you are eating a lot of raw food (not cooked over 118) then you don’t need enzymes for that meal. Occasionally I’ll forget but after I eat I kinda feel bloated then I will go ahead and take some then. It will really help you stabilize also when you introduce new food into your diet.

    I am on day 10 of phase 2 and realizing that my drops have possibly expired :/ so I have ordered more and they are on the way but my question is…Should I stop taking the expired drops I have now? If so, and my new drops arrive after 3 days…should I re-fat load a day or 2 to start with the New bottle of HCG?

    I have been searching the web for a similar question to this for 3 days with no luck…Thank you so much for your help!

      Keep taking the expired drops. Usually they last way beyond the date. You do not want to reload. You would need to do both maintenance phases before you reload. Next time check out the drops I carry called Reduce 1 x

    I started the program because I have been trying to lose weight with diet and exercise for the past 3 months. I am in menopause and was not able to lose a single pound despite the fact that I was only consuming 1100 calories a day (no starch or sugar) and doing an hour of cardio and strength training 5 days a week!!!
    I have been on Phase 2 for 2 weeks and will be leaving for Hawaii in 17 days.
    My question is: Can I be successful in keeping off the 12 pounds I have lost if I stop taking the drops now – do 3 days of vlcd without drops – and then do only 2 weeks of Phase 3? I understand the importance of Phase 3. However, it is not every day we go to Hawaii and don’t want to be worried about a strict diet while I am on vacation – but also don’t want these past 2 weeks to have been a waste of my time (I still have about 12 pounds until goal weight).
    I am generally a very healthy eater (no white bread, sugar, pasta, etc and limited carbs every day). My only concern in Hawaii is alcohol (Jack & Diet) and some bad carbs (cheez-its and doritos-which are my favorite laying in the sun snack foods)

      My best advice is to take a scale with you. You will learn how certain foods affect you. If you don’t you can put the weight back on without knowing it. You will not be stable yet. One of the great things about this diet is it does change your cravings. The goal is not to go back to bad snacks. . Try to think of some new snacks. I love apple slices and cheese. Alcohol in moderation in Phase 3 is usually ok but you need to drink a lot of water also. Hope this helps.

    Great info… but I think your information about ‘Blue Agave’ is incorrect. It has no fructose-glucose. It is a health food store alternative to sugar and naturally made. Please confirm this.

    I find that 4 weeks is the maximum time I like people to be on the drops. If people stay on them 2 long then they seem to not do as good in there maintenance phases. The maximum you should lose in 1 round is 30 lbs. Just evaulate it when you get to 3-4 weeks. No you do not take them in any other phase. After you complete Phase 3 & 4 then you go back to phase 2 again if you need to lose more weight.

    What if i only have 17 injections? Meaning enough for the 2 load days and only enough for 15 days of phase 2? Would it still be ok to do the diet or will I just gain the weight back? I’d love to do the diet and lose the weight, but if I’m just going to gain it all back, then I don’t want to waste my time.

      I can only answer for myself and I wouldn’t want to waste them. The reason you should be on it 3 weeks is to reset your hypothalamus. Just realize that to maintain the weight loss you still need to do Phase 3 and Phase 4. If you do then I would go for it.

    Well I do have like half a bottle of drops. So what if I use all 17 injections then for the remaining time period I use drops? Would that be alright or should I not combine the two?

      I would just go ahead and do the 17 days and see where you are at. If you want to go longer start taking the drops. If you feel the switch over isn’t going well then do the 72 hours. If it is keep going.

    You’ll gain the weight back if you don’t complete the protocol which includes all phases. Then the goal is to eat healthier and not go back to all of your old habits. It sounds like you might need to do some more research. This is a journey not a quick fix.

    hi I’m on my second round of the hcg diet. My boyfriend surprised me with a trip to hawaii i will not have time to finish 21 days and 3 weeks phase 3. should i stop a little sooner then 21 days to do more time in phase 3? I will be at my goal weight on day 12 or thirteen.

    You can eat anything you want on your load days but the goal is eating high fat. You will gain weight but it will come off the first day or two. Research shows that people who load well, lose the most. You always load the first 2 days when you start a round. If you are use to sugar and caffeine soda I would suggest buying yerba mate tea. It has a natural caffeine in it that doesn’t give you highs and lows. I drink it every morning on the diet. My sister drank coca cola for years and she drink it when she started and never even got a headache from withdrawals. You want to get out of the habit or cut back as much as possible as an eventual goal.

    My family is getting together on mother’s day and i would really like to eat what i want on this day….not like a loading day but maybe a piece of cake or a slice of pie. Would this ruin my diet?if i do this should i still take my drops? Can i just get right back on point the next day?

      Getting off the drops for one day will not help you. If you cheat just understand that you lose 3 days from where you would of been if you didn’t. You will probably gain weight and when you cheat you usually are hungrier the next day. Try to do the least damage.

      Everyone can pretty much have 3 Tab. of MCT Oil on Phase 2. Coconut oil is about 40-60% MCT. Some people can get away with it on Phase 2 but others, like myself, will not lose as much if I use it on Phase 2. It’s your call just realize it can keep you from losing as much.

    I am on day 31 today and am down 15lbs. I am going to stop on day 41 BUT I am wondering if I start excersising and eating healthy to loose another 15lbs THEN do 21 days of maintenance at that weight. For medical reasons I can’t do another round. Please Help!!

      I would not try to lose additional weight on your maintenance. If you do it is more than likely muscle. You need to get your body used to more calories and kick start your digestion. Once you are done with your maintenance then just incorporate good eat habits and try to lose some more. If you want to do another round, try Reduce 1x, it is only $49 lasts for over a month and works fabulous and is safe.

    It gives you a little leeway. Most people will still lose some weight during there 72 hours. Just realize that it is normal to go up and down during maintenance which is why it is so important. The most recent research shows that once you are done with the 72 hours you should increase your calories 200 a day until you get to 1800 calories a day for a woman. Hope this helps! Vicki

      For everyone the 1st week you will lose more than the following weeks. However towards the end you will notice more inches coming off. Thats just the way it works. Having a glass of wine, a hot dog, or anything not on the protocol will usually stop your weight loss for at least a day. You’ll find out all those little cheats are not worth it. Reread the protocol and articles under Success Tips for Phase 2. You get 2 fruits a day but they need to be different fruits, vegetables and proteins for each meal. If you eat 2 apples a day you will not lose as much. All of these small things make a huge difference. Hang in there and make the proper corrections.

      You can stop taking them on your heavy flow days and usually be ok. However, I like to take them throughout because it won’t harm you and I don’t to risk being hungry.

      Read the label for sugar, oil or starch. You should have a different vegetables, protein, and fruit each day.

      Yes you always need to load when starting a round. The research shows that those that do lose more. The key is high fat!

      Not surprising in the 4th week. If you only took it 1 day after missing a day you might eat so more vegetables towards the end if you are hungry.

      Yes you need to redo the load days. You need it in your system for the 48 hours before you start the lo cal portion of the diet.

    I’d have to know more about the pills to advise you on that. If you have cheated already you are not ready to do the diet. I would advise you to get off of the pills and do some research and get more committed. The first few days and the first week are when you lose the most and if we cheat that soon you jeopardize your success for the whole phase.

    I would just use the 159.8. When you start Phase 3 increase your calories by 200 a day until you get to about 1800 calories a day for a women. People have a lot more success doing it that way. Remember it is normal to go up and down when you are stabilizing. But you should not do more than 2 steak days in a month. If you go up then cut back on something the next day and keep the water up to at least half your body weight in ounces of water. Hope this helps!

      You are only suppose to have 1 Tablespoon of fat free milk a day so basically I just forget it. You can if you have a problem with meat or get tired of your proteins once in a great while substitute your protein in one meal with 1 egg and 3 egg whites.

      You should stay on it for at least 3 weeks if you want it to clean up your body. If you reach your goal weight sooner you stay on the same food but double your protein and veggies, etc.

Just be aware that almost all women gain weight just before and during their cycle which is attributed to water retention so you won’t seem to be losing as much but most will have a significant drop afterwards. You’ll know because you will be going to the bathroom a lot the day before. Another sign that you have been retaining water.

    There is a HUGE difference between good fat and bad fat. In fact good fat eats bad fat. Examples of healthy fat choices are expeller or cold pressed oils, avocados, young white coconuts, soaked raw nuts, raw almond butter, almonds. You want to avoid animal fats, hydrogenated or refined oils, margarines, etc. If you have high cholesterol it is a further indication that you eat to much bad fat and you are not breaking down and digesting fat which would make Sugar & Starch Enzymes a good choice for you. When you have a cholesterol test it is your good fat and ratio that are the most important. If you good fat is high you will store less fat and you will be in the lowest category to be at risk for a heart attack or struck.

Can I double up and combine my lunch and dinner at the same time? All I have eaten today is 10 slices of cucumbers, 1 small apple, 100 g boiled skinless chicken breast, sauteed fresh spinach and 3 slices of tomatoes. I am SO HUNGRY.       Yes it should get better. Your body also detoxes the first few days. You do not want to combine meals. Just denying yourself the 1st couple of days is an adjustment. Try some yerba mate tea. It should help your headache. I sweeten mine with flavored stevia.

      I drink a lot of yerba mate tea if I get hungry at all. It keeps me full and gives you energy. I tell people to ask themselves, are you really hungry, do you just want to eat, does your stomach fill empty or are you really truly hungry. Most of the time I’m not really hungry. If you are something is up. I can only speak for the drops I carry (Reduce lx which has an appetite suppressant added to eat) but you shouldn’t be hungry. Trying having your fruit between meals and your veggie and meat for meals. You need to weigh every day. Even when you are not on the diet. It helps you to understand how your body works and when you retain water, etc. Hope this helps!

      Some people stop taking them during there period some don’t. For me personally it doesn’t hurt to continue to take them and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to be hungry.

    I would schedule your session as soon as possible. You might lose a good portion of the rest of the 9 pounds. Those are detoxing and healthy at any time but probably even better now that you have been on a clean diet for the last few weeks. Many people stay on the protocol too long trying to get those last few pounds. Instead of focusing on a number listen to your body. Phase 3 is the most important phase. Increase your calories 200 a day till you get to around 1800. The most important thing is learning what your individual body needs to feel better and maintain. Congratulations.

    I am 4 days away from finishing phase 2. My doctor told me that I can switch to weight watchers to maintain my weight after the 72 hours of VLCD.       If you go up review what you ate the previous day. Sugar and Starch in Phase 3 are very dangerous. I personally would not eat them. The only people I know who have lost 30 lbs in 1 round are men. 20 is fabulous for a woman. This is a journey not a number on the scale. Concentrate on eating well and paying attention to how your body reacts. You won’t be stable for another 6 weeks.

    If you are taking drops it is optional whether you want to keep taking them during your heavy days. I always did. Your body will retain water but realize you are still losing fat and will drop release more weight toward them end. I would not worry about it just stick to the protocol.

      I personally don’t think 10 drops is enough. It will not hurt you. Most people who take 10 drops are still hungry but everyone is a little different. If 10 drops is enough for you, yours will last longer.

      Anytime after 3 weeks you can move on to the next phase. You should not be hungry as long as you keep eating what you should.

      No. You do not want to eat all your calories in one meal. Sometimes I wish you could but you won’t lose as much. Just try to space it out. Eat more veggies and fruit if you can till you can get home and fix something else. One of my tricks is if you go to in and out and order the double double with no cheese and sauce protein style and have them add extra pickles and tomatoes it does the trick in a bind. You can also have them put mustard on it.

      At this point since you have been off of the drops for 4 days I would go to Phase 3 then 4 and stabilize. Then do a round later.

    Started diet 3 days ago 2 days of loading with no drops third days 10 drops 3 times a day 2 apples 2 meals. Weighed myself this am gained 3lbs my husband who is also doing it said I had to have eaten my second meal too late or did something wrong. I had a severe headache and angry about the 3 lbs so i ate today. I haven’t had any drops. Do I need to start the load process over if I want to try again or just take drops and do the diet?     I am on phase 2 day 21 and am going out of town in 4 days for a 40th birthday. I know I am going to cheat but I wanted to get back on track after the weekend. Should I stop the drops before going and then resume when I get back or should instant on drops, cheat, and then get back on track? Would this be like reloading in the middle? My main concern is gaining weight back during the two days of cheating. I have lost 15 lbs in the 21 days.

      If you cheat, be prepared to gain weight. I would not stop the drops if you are going to only be gone a couple of days. When you get back do an apple day and get back on track as soon as possible. Do whatever you can to stay away from sugar and flour.

    Saturday night I went out and drank 4 vodkas and water and a couple sips of riesling and a sip of 2 different shots of liquior. I immediately felt guilty about it but lost 4.2 lbs the next day. Sunday, I only took my drops twice and had a tiny bite of cornbread dressing, low and behold I got on the scale this Monday morning and had gain 2.2lbs!!! What exactly went wrong here?

      First of all, alcohol dehydrates you, then you had starch which always makes you retain water and go up, not to mention your body did not get nourishment, protein, vegetables. At this point you need to get back on track to salvage things immediately or you need to do your 72 hours and get off. Remember you are not stable until you do your maintenance phases. If you get off and go back to starch and sugar you will gain weight very quickly. Good luck.

        Remember, If you take a couple of days off it takes 3 additional days of dieting to get back to where you were before you cheated normally. Exercise is good but it should be limited. You are only eating around 500 calories. If you exercise to much you don’t have the nutrition to sustain it so your body thinks it needs to store fat and burn muscle. Its a balancing act. Hope this helps.

    I am similar to Carla in that I am on day 6 of phase 2 and I have stalled. My weight has not changed for 3 days and I have only lost 2.2pounds! Yes, I was constipated but then I had a small bowel movement yesterday afternoon but the change did not register on the scale. I have switched to mineral oil for my skin, I walk a little during the day as I am a lecturer and my campus is big. Is it normal for someone to stall so early in the programme? Also, I am not hungry at all. I sometimes feel like I have to force myself to eat especially the evening meal. I sleep about 6-7 hrs a night and weigh 156 pounds. I am only 5’1 so I could stand to lose another 14 pounds easily to get to acceptable weight. Why the stall? I am soo frustrated right now.

      Because your not hungry doesn’t mean you don’t need to eat. People go into more stalls and gain weight if they don’t eat at least the 500 calories. Everyone hits stalls at different times and it is perfectly normal. People hit them quicker if they don’t eat when and what they should. Your body still needs nourishment. Remember during your stalls you are still losing fat. It is usually water retention. Read Dr. Simeons protocol and you will understand why.

      Some drops are not as effective as others and I personally think u need to take more than 10 drops. Check out the ones I carry here. One bottle should last a month. I would also check out the questionnaire on diet errors under tips for Phase 2.

    Hi I am currently on day 16 phase 2 , I am a type 2 insulin dependant diabetic, so far I have only lost 9 pounds and have been sticking to the diet religiously, I have at least 40 pounds to lose, because I am a diabetic does this slow the process down ? I have lost lots of inches I must admit but would like to see more pounds come off, I lost most in the first week hardly anything in the second week and now into the third week it is starting to come off a little more again, should I only do this for 3 weeks or continue to 4 weeks ? also I will mention that since being on this diet I haven’t been doing insulin as I have found it has brought my blood sugar levels down however I am still taking 2 metformin a day thanks

      Diabetics usually do really well on this diet. Some people lose it faster, some are doing a few things they are not aware of that slow it down. I would double check the questionnaire on diet errors just to make sure. Stress and digestive issues and also affect it. Don’t give up.

    The tanning salon I go to has a bed called slim pod.Its much like
    a sauna you lay in it for 30 min under LED lights that heat up.
    At the end it tells you the amount of calories burned through
    the process of sweating. An average of 250 calories per session.
    The idea is to sweat out the toxins in your body ultimately causing weight loss is this okay on P2 or should I not be burning 250 of my 500 calories a day in this way? Thank you in advance!

      I’m not sure what kind you have but the kind I sell will last over a year if you keep it in the back of the fridge after you have opened it. Listen to your body.

If we don’t follow it to the T should we be concern on any major health scare. I hope this question makes sense.         I feel great with more energy and more focuse but I’m just a little concern.

          You will feel great! You should be eating around 1800 calories. You still need to listen to your body. If you do heavy exercise every day you might need a few more calories.

      Try to take put some liquid minerals in your water and take a multi-vitamin. As you increase your food intake that should help.

    No. You need to stay on the low calorie diet for 3 weeks. If you reach your goal weight before 3 weeks, stay on the same types of food just double your calories. You still need to do 3 weeks of Phase 3 and 3 weeks of Phase 4 before you will stabilize.

      Yes it could be but your weight loss will never be the same and will slow down the further you are into the protocol.
