HCG Diet Overview
Dr. Simeons Original HCG Diet Overview
Phase 1 Detoxification (optional)
This phase was not in Dr. Simeons original protocol. Fifty plus years later our foods have changed dramatically. We consume a lot of processed, chemically laced, genetically modified foods that are affecting our metabolism and our weight. If you do some research, you will start to understand how beneficial detoxing is to your overall health and to how you feel. Our goal is to provide resources and ideas to get you ready for the HCG diet so you will have an easier time and better results. Go to success tips for Phase 2 for additional guidelines and information.
Phase 2 Taking HCG + 500 calorie diet
Minimum of 21 days up to 45 days
Day 1: Load Day. Take HCG and gorge on as much fatty foods as possible.
Day 2: Load Day. Take HCG and continue gorging.
Day 3: Take HCG and follow the 500 calorie diet outlined in the Pounds and Inches Protocol.
500 Calorie Diet Overview
Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of skim milk allowed in 24 hours.
Lunch:
1. 100 grams (3.5 oz) of Protein. You can have veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be cooked without additional fat or oil. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird. (No bones)
2. One type of vegetable to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage. Check the vegetable calorie counter below to get a general idea what the calories are for the vegetable you are eating.
3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast. (Can skip this if you don’t need it)
4. An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.
Dinner : The same four choices as lunch but you must have a different protein, different vegetable, and different fruit then you had for lunch.
When you are ready to transition to Phase 3, STOP taking the HCG and remain on the 500 calorie diet for an additional 72 hours. If you increase your calories during this period you will gain weight.
Important Highlights:
1. The 500 calorie limit must always be maintained.
2. Two small apples are not an acceptable exchange for “1 apple.”
3. Very occasionally we allow egg – boiled, poached or raw – to those who develop an aversion to meat, but in this case they must add the white of three eggs to the one they eat whole.
4. 100 grams of Cottage cheese made from skimmed milk may occasionally be used instead of the meat.
5. The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes. 6. Salt, pepper, vinegar, fresh herbs and most seasonings are allowed (be sure to check ingredients for sugar or MSG) no oil or butter. See Recipe Club for Ideas.
6. Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water (it is recommended that you drink ½ your body weight in ounces of water) are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times.
7. The fruit or the breadstick may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner, but not more than four items listed for lunch and dinner may be eaten at one meal.
8. This is a no fat, no oil phase. Oil in any form will stall your weight loss. The only exception is mineral oil or 1-2 tab. of MCT Oil. (See alternative suggestions)
The total daily intake must not exceed 500 Calories if the best possible results are to be obtained.
